The Desktop Administrator is responsible for day-to-day administrator-level support for LANDesk Management Suite and the enterprise-level functions of LANDesk. The Desktop Administrator will also provide advanced level technical support, Endpoint Security, and troubleshooting for desktop systems hardware and software as required. is an Equal Opportunity/Drug-Free Employer.
Lead in the analysis, development and execution of administration processes for Desktop Systems Provisioning, Patch management, Endpoint Management, Asset management and Software Distribution using the LANDesk Management Suite (LDMS)
Analyze and recommend new PC and/or Server-based hardware/software solutions for the company
Participate in the on-going maintenance and development of the core LANDesk Management Suite system
Operate and maintain our Endpoint Security which includes configuration, maintenance, and installation
Provide status reports to designated management for all projects/activities
Collaborate between the Infrastructure Operations admin staff and the Service Desk team on technical issues and projects
Serve as an escalation point to fellow team members on troubleshooting process and support procedures of PC-based hardware and software
Assist with Tier 1 and Tier 2 incident management and service request fulfillment as well as phone triage as needed
Monitor and take ownership of appropriate trouble tickets, analyze and take corrective action
Apply advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques and root-cause analysis of Tier 1 and Tier 2 support issues
Serve as a team lead by providing guidance and training to less-experienced technicians
Assist in creating, updating and maintaining documentation of all job responsibilities and processes
Provide high-level of customer service to multiple levels of staff, end-users and management
Develop and maintain positive relationships and interactions with vendors, internal staff, and management
Three or more years of experience in PC hardware/software installation and support, combined with at least one year of experience in the implementation of basic local area networks and TCP/IP communications, security/anti-virus software, and general network troubleshooting
Knowledge of PCs and components, servers and components, PC-based productivity software, and communications networks
Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed, including work scheduled overtime and be available for on-call rotation for emergency overtime when the need arises by responding to overtime call outs before and after standard scheduled hours of work
Valid/current driver’s license
Availability to travel up to 50% of the time and occasionally overnight
Ability to exchange accurate information with employees and customers
Capability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift
Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing 50 pounds
Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and criminal background check
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications and/or training
Microsoft Certification (MCSA)
Experience with LANDesk Management Suite (LDMS)
Experience with Endpoint Management Systems
Familiarity with ITIL processes
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational ability and attention to detail
