CLASS TITLE: INTERVIEWING CLERKSTOREFRONTNon-Teleworking position ALLOCATION FACTOR(S) This is paraprofessional work interviewing applicants in reference to job placement; interviewing unemployment compensation claimants; determining the initial and continuing eligibility of applicants for participation in a health care project; maintaining liaison with community service organizations in order to determine the results of services extended to individual clients; conducting group training sessions for disadvantaged applicants' making referrals to stop-gap employment; and reviewing job orders for the purpose of making file search for qualified applicants; or interviewing public assistance or child support applicants to obtain information for services and needs. Examples of work performed are not to be used for allocation purposes.) Interviews applicants to determine economic indigence for eligibility in a health care project based on established criteria.
Administers and grades employment service tests and posts results to records.
Interviews applicants to determine type of services and public assistance needs.
Interviews applicants to determine eligibility in a social services or child support enforcement program based on established criteria.
Explains the public assistance eligibility or child support enforcement process to applicants.
Determines eligibility for expedited food stamp services.
Enters client data into database based on intake of caller information.
Based on established medical criteria, determines whether the patient will be a total-care or clinical patient.
Makes proper referrals on employer orders and occupations usually filled by walk-in traffic or refers applicants to various related agencies for assistance.
Makes file search for specific information in determining eligibility for specific job openings.
Interviews unemployment compensation applicants and processes requests.
Performs follow-up which may be necessary in order to ensure the continuing physical and mental health of a patient receiving assistance under a health care project.
Maintains necessary files and records.
Reviews basic child support enforcement case information and relays information to client.
Under supervision of a professional employee, classifies applicants according to skills, knowledge, and abilities, and assigns occupational title and code using Dictionary of Occupational Titles.
Maintains liaison with community agencies and service organizations in order to determine the results of services rendered to individual clients.
Conducts group training sessions for disadvantaged applicants to provide them with a better understanding of employee expectations.
Operates photocopying machines, typewriters, stencil machines, adding machines, calculators, cash registers, camera equipment, computer video terminals, microfilm and microfiche readers, computer printers and related equipment with such accuracy as can be acquired on the job.
Performs related work as required.

Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of clerical or public contact experience.
College education from an accredited institution or vocational/technical training can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.
