Customer Service Rep/Office AssistantEdison, NJ 08837Part-timeSalary: $14.00 /hourMaverick Industries, a housewares importing company in Edison specializing in cooking thermometers is looking for a hands-on Consumer Customer Service Person and Office Assistant.Daily customer service work includes reviewing and responding to consumer emails, and occasional phone calls, about questions they have with using our products. Other daily office work is reviewing and processing daily orders for replacement parts and other items that come in from our website carts.Our products are fairly easy to understand and use, and you would use these products in office so as to understand them and be able to respond quickly. Several of the products use phone Apps and connect with Bluetooth and Wifi, and you’ll need to be comfortable understanding and explaining these connection procedures. See: www.maverickthermometers.com for our products.About 65% of your job would be in these areas. To manage these CS tasks we use ZenDesk, Ship Station and Stripe, so familiarity with them or similar methods is a plus.In addition, you would be the primary telephone answer person, as most of the time the calls we get are from consumers with questions about the products. You must have a good English speaking and telephone voice, and you will transfer the incoming calls that are not customer service related. Some other office duties such as sorting daily incoming mail, and handling outgoing mail with our postage meter, will apply.You will also need to know how to use office equipment such as scanners and copiers, and your workstation computer and printer. We are a 7 person office with an attached warehouse for shipping, and day to day responsibilities can vary when we need back up in any area.Are you someone with these skills?*Ability to multi-task*Well-spoken and articulate, and clear email writing skills*Tech savvy with phones and apps*Computer literate with email, Excel, and Word.* Zen Desk and Ship Station experience a plus*Extremely ReliableHours:Monday-Friday 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (hours can be negotiated if needed)$14.00 an hour to start.For consideration, please submit your resume and tell us a little about yourself in the email.
