The Front Desk Representative is the first and last impression for our patients within our successful practice. This position schedules appointments, collects patient financial responsibilities, performs daily billing processes and communicates professionally with patients in person and over the phone. Essential Functions Checks patients in and out for visit.
Copies insurance cards and identification for patients chart.
Ensures all required referrals are presented, complete and correct.
Furnishes new patients with all required paperwork.
Obtains necessary patient signatures on pertinent forms.
Updates patient demographics, insurance information, etc. for returning patients.
Registers new patient's demographics, insurance information, etc. into computer.
Properly and consistently verifies insurance information.
Collects current money due and old balances/co-pays/deductibles.
Politely refers patients to billing when necessary.
Correctly schedules patients according to template.
Reviews super-bill and correctly enters CPT and ICD codes in to Nextgen for billing purposes.
Reconciles monies at the end of each day.
Answers phones according to MAR protocol.
Reschedules or cancesl appointments as needed by phone or mail.
Mail out "no show" letter to patients as needed.
Print daily schedule for doctors and staff.
Fax information to other locations as requested.
Regular and predictable on-site attendance required.
Works overtime as needed.
Travels to other MAR locations as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Work from Home Not eligible. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, communicate verbally in front of groups, one to one and over the telephone and in email.
Occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
Lift or move objects weighing over 20 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Working environment in exam rooms is often in moderate light.
Using hands to operate equipment, show manual or finger dexterity, handle things with precision or speed, use muscular coordination and physical stamina. Ability to raise dominant arm above shoulder height to administer drops.
Works with data and numbers, calculating and manipulating numbers, processing data on a computer, attending to details, classifying and recording, storing and retrieving information.
Following through on plans or instructions.
Using words to communicate ideas, reading with comprehension, writing reports or other documentation, teaching or training patients.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand. Travel Willingness to travel is required for this position Required Education and Experience 1 year front desk experience in a medical office
Working knowledge of medical insurance
Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, Microsoft Office Suite and Nextgen preferred.
