Detail of : Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Opening in Bellaire
Country Club Retirement Campus in Bellaire, Ohio is currently looking for full time (Midnight - 6p-6a *3 - 12 hour shifts a week*) and part time (Day - 6a-2p *3 - 8 hour shifts a week*) PCAs Personal Care Assistants to assist residents by performing functions that do not require STNA certification in our Assisted Living unit.Companions work directly with residents and will interact with family members, guests, and all internal departments. This is a multi-task oriented position on the Personal Care-Assisted Living Wing.DUTIES: Provide personal care, activities to the residents, meal service, laundry service, and information regarding the center to visitors/family members. Receive assignments Check resident schedule for each shift In general, provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and reminders for medications Assist in providing routine AM/PM care to the residents. This includes proper bathing, good oral care, care of dentures, shampoo when necessary, shaving male residents, hair and nail care, and proper dressing of residents Making beds, sets room in order, water flowers Assist residents, who need assistance, on general diets with menu selection, check dietary trays with doctors orders before serving, serves trays, remove trays when resident finished Assist residents to and from the dining room Assist residents with transfers from chair to bed, etc. Supervise residents while in the dining room Serve fresh drinking water and snacks to residents Encourages self-help measures and residents to attend activities Change linens when necessary Assist in providing pericare when necessary Assist in cleaning residents after an episode of incontinence Performs personal services for resident within reason such as: reading to them, writing letters for them, operating the television/air conditioner, run errands for the resident, and other tasks which will promote a feeling of hospitality and provide comfort and security for the residents Assisting visitors and family members with their questions Answer call lights in a timely manner Sees that safety devices are in use and safety precautions are followed Sees that room temperature and humidity are compatible for the resident. Observes residents and notes physical condition, attitude, reactions, appetite, etc., and reports changes or unusual findings to the Wellness Director Participates in unit cleaning duties which are not performed by housekeeping personnel, in order to maintain safety for residents and personnel Welcoming new residents to the center Other assigned duties.
