Job Title: ReMerge Resident AssistantReports to: ReMerge Program DirectorStatus: Part Time - Temporary, ExemptDate: November 2020Purpose of This Position:This position works directly with women in early recovery, providing structure and support to individuals seeking to establish stable long-term recovery. The Resident Assistant will live on-site. Position will be responsible for transporting participants of various programs to appointments in a timely manner and ensuring that vehicles are always ready for use, including duties related to maintenance of vehicles. This position will include transporting children. The Resident Assistant will also have the responsibility of managing and coordinating aspects of the residence. This includes duties related to administration, housekeeping, and daily living.The primary duties include the following: Work closely with ReMerge Resident Manager to transport ReMerge participants as well as participants of other partner agencies, while also helping to develop a residence that promotes a safe, supportive and caring home environment in which the residents continue their recovery. Provide regularly scheduled opportunities for the residents to grow in their understanding of recovery. The Resident Assistant is also responsible for coordinating aspects of the resident's transportation, meals, activities and meetings.Duties and Responsibilities of this Position: Managing and coordinating daily housekeeping tasks
Ensuring that house chores are completed and the residence is kept clean
Leading weekly house meetings
Conducting inspections, and making arrangements for random drug testing, when needed
Checking supplies and inventory in the residence
Transporting participants to and from program and appointments
Conflict resolution
Plan daily programming
Plan and approve family visits and passes
Carrying out vehicle maintenance checks
Interacting with participants in a professional conduct
Delivering participants to their destination as planned with program in a timely manner
Maintaining an organized travel schedule
Occasional work at night and on weekends
Arranging for vehicle repairs when necessary
Updating monthly mileage records

Education and Experience Required: Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic office experience, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Willingness to learn new skills, flexibility and comfort with ambiguity as the transportation program continues to evolve.Experience working in a fast-paced environment; Experience and/or knowledge of sober living atmosphere, addiction and recovery, trauma informed care, social services, criminal justice system, administrative duties and/or restorative justice initiative preferred.Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for the last 5 years minimum.Knowledge and Skills to perform this position:Computer and typing skills
Ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines

Electronic Equipment RequirementsCell phone and data package is required for this position. Employee must have working cell phone and provide number to supervisor and relevant staff. Data package must be available as needed for work purposes.
Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office; must be able to operate standard office equipment.

Decision Making Authority: (When must employee consult supervisor?)Once trained and familiar with the program, the position would require weekly consultation with supervisor.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.AttendanceAbility to comply with the organization’s attendance policy as documented in the employee handbook required.Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentThis position is considered “Safety Sensitive.” In the course of performing this work the staff will spend time sitting, standing, speaking and listening. Must regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
