This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Western Regional Office, San Carlos Irrigation Project in Coolidge, Arizona. Positions report to the Project Manager.
Performs varied janitorial duties including cleaning offices, windows, entrance ways, hallways, and exterior areas; sweeping and mopping floors; vacuuming and cleaning carpets; cleaning restrooms; cleaning locker rooms and emptying and cleaning waste receptacles. Also disposes of trash; furnishes building with supplies; handles emergency cleanup situations; performs minor building maintenance; operates a variety of electrical cleaning equipment; maintains custodial equipment and supplies and unloads, moves supplies or items to/from proper or designated locations. Cleans other facilities located in Coolidge and remote field office locations when needed. May undertake routine maintenance tasks related to building operating systems, i.e.; changing filters, etc. Perform grounds keeping activities such as weed removal, raking decorated rock area, trim bushes/trees and general grounds maintenance such as clearing litter and debris. Establishes cleaning schedules; orders/requisitions cleaning supplies and equipment as needed. Performs a variety of errands and related custodial tasks.

Demonstrate through training and experience your ability to perform the work of Janitor without more than normal supervision; an example of qualifying work experience is work experience performing janitorial, building maintenance or general labor duties on the job where work was closely monitored by a supervisor or senior employee who ensured compliance with proper procedures; AND
-Possess a valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, talk or hear; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is indoors and outdoors. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and could be exposed to electrical shock. Occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic chemicals.
