To be eligible for this position you must be currently unemployed, a dislocated worker, eligible to draw UI benefits or have been long term unemployed. Purpose and Function: The NEG Grant AJC COVID Assistant is a grant funded temporary position. The NEG grant provides temporary employment opportunities for recently dislocated workers resulting from the Coronavirus Pandemic. The COVID Assistant will work with an assigned American Job Center to provide administrative support and general assistance services for relief and recovery projects resulting from the Coronavirus Pandemic.Anticipated duration of the position is from 3-6 months with the possibility of extended time depending on needs.The AJC Resource Center is the hub of customer activity. It is the point of entry for many customers and the place where many customers direct their own research, plan development and management. The COVID Assistant’s primary responsibility is to assist with COVID health screening and to provide COVID sanitation assistance by ensuring the commonly used areas are cleaned throughout the workday.General Responsibilities: Maintains work area by sanitizing public spaces.
Assists with health screening COVID questions & maintaining social distancing.

· Acts as a resource and reference librarian to direct the efforts of customers using the Resource Center for career explorations or career research.· Assists customers in using self-directed materials as needed.· Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business, assists and/or directs visitors to appropriate person.· Makes photocopies, organizes and distributes documents.Operates a computer, printer, scanner etc. to enter, store and retrieve data
Other duties as assigned.
