The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS); Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) is recruiting to fill an Offender Records Associate position in Mauston, WI. Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center opened in 2001 and houses Wisconsin's Sexually Violent Persons Program. The goal of the center is treating and teaching patients with a history of sexual aggression toward the goal of providing a safe return to the community. benefits include at least 3.5 weeks of vacation, 9 paid holidays, ample sick time, a top rated health plan, low-cost insurance options starting at $32/month for single plans and $80/month for family plans after two months of state service, and an exceptional retirement plan. This position is responsible for the maintenance, security, and flow of records, documents, forms, and patient files through the records unit and to other internal and external stakeholders. This position processes court orders; provides assistance to patients, institution staff, attorneys, law enforcement agencies, courts, other agencies, management staff, and the public regarding procedures related to patient movements, visits, and legal document copy requests; scheduling all patient professional visits and telephone calls; and processing the patient annual re-exam paperwork and reports. In addition, this position coordinates the release of patient information; performs technical treatment record functions; maintains active and inactive patient permanent charts; reviews treatment records for accurate patient name and completeness; and processes admission, treatment, and discharge information according to Ch. 980. This position will adhere to all federal and state regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality of all patient information including the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and is responsible for ensuring that the proper releases and court orders are received prior to releasing any patient information in order to protect the patient’s confidentiality. The starting pay is $16.71 per hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. The pay schedule and range is 02/11. A 12 month probationary period is required. Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SRSTC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date. Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following: Experience working with a variety of computer programs (e.g.,Word, Excel, Access, Outlook etc.), to perform duties such as creating and maintaining memo's, emails, spreadsheets, etc.
Experience providing customer service/support (e.g., directing phone calls, gathering information, answering questions, providing instruction, serving as a liaison, resolving customer complaints/conflict, etc.)
Experience maintaining a record system (e.g., data collection, data entry, maintaining a filing or tracking system, providing data or records in response to requests)
Ability to type at least 45 words per minute (A typing test will be required)
