Overview: Under direction of the Applications Manager, the Application Analyst I is a specialist in their respective Epic Application(s) and supports core functions of the health system’s processes. Responsible for Epic software analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation as well as application support and issue resolution. Interacts with Operational and IT personnel in identifying, evaluating and configuring systems to meet user and organizational requirements. Maintains high credibility and ownership of system activities within assigned application. Works directly with Operations and provides input on system design and capabilities. Responsibilities: Develops system design, including functional specifications and strategies, based upon the analysis of specific operational needs.
Analyze operational requirements and system capabilities to propose effective solutions.
Understand workflow practices and how to apply to system configuration in support of Operational/IT strategies, issues, and priorities.
Performs unit, system, and integration testing per standards and documents outcomes.
Work with Application Team to ensure applications are well supported and implementations are properly executed.
Follow defined standards, promote best practice principles, and participate in change control process.
Optimizes, maintains and supports application/system as required.
Participates effectively as a team member to achieve team goals and objectives.
Provides on-call support, troubleshoots and resolves production support issues. Initiates escalation procedures. Identify potential issues and refer more complex issues to appropriate level of support.
Builds rapport and always promotes teamwork by maintaining a professional and positive attitude, working to maintain open and professional lines of communication with all end users and colleagues, and utilizing key change management principles.
Lead meetings as needed, prioritize tasks, resolve conflicts and manage a project plan.
Meet application deliverables, project timelines, and delivery weekly status reporting.
Timely project and data tracking with input of weekly time tracking.
Performs other related duties assigned by supervisor. In an emergency, performs other duties necessary for the welfare of patients or the efficient operations of the institution.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare or information technology related field preferred; (will consider equivalent combination of formal education and experience, i.e. Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years related experience).

Experience: Minimum one (1) year applicable skills in Information Technology preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Possess a combination of technical, analytical, and customer service skills
Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, and manage multiple priorities
Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills necessary to be socially perceptive in accepting and relaying information, communicating policies and procedures, and interacting effectively with a variety of personnel.
Superior verbal/written English communication skills, including grammatical, editing and proofreading skills.
Superior follow-up/follow-through skills, verbal/written English communication skills, including grammatical, editing and proofreading skills.

Licenses, Certification: Certification in one or more assigned Epic Applications preferred.
If not yet certified, must successfully complete Epic certification within 90 days post last class according to assigned training track(s).
If certified, certification must be current with new version training requirements and in a non-lapsed standing.

Physical Requirements: Position requires prolonged periods of sitting and use of a computer and screen viewing throughout the working day.
Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, sitting, and walking throughout the working day.
Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
