Duties Summary You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the DIRECTORATE for RESOURCES MANAGEMENT of NMRTC JACKSONVILLE FL.
Responsibilities You will monitor and correct data errors in automated billing and collection systems governing insurance billing, collections, and cash deposits of funds.
You will use standard accounting procedures and terminology to monitor accounts and applies various accounting techniques to research, identify and correct errors.
You will monitor Patient clinic and ancillary encounters using CHCS (Composite Health Care System) and AHLTA (Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Application).
You will verify budgetary account codes, dollar amounts, signatures, research account discrepancies, and document corrective measures for audit purposes.
You will serve a liaison to the MCRU Units for case requests of billing/records on eligible beneficiaries and Attorney requests on non-eligible beneficiaries.
You will maintain a change fund to be used to accept patient payments, and to provide change to the Galley. Cash out payments/galley funds with the Collection Agent.
You will provide Accounts Receivable status, payment, and case reports to the UBO Manager, as required.
You will utilize computer programs such as (excel, word, powerpoint).

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing account maintenance and support work to examine, verify, maintain and reconcile third party financial claims.
Establishing appropriate accounting and record keeping procedures for monies collected and researches, verifies, processes and reconciles third party financial claims.
Identifying medical and ancillary encounters billable to Medical or Liability Insurance, or to the patient in accordance with DoD Regulations.
Performing account maintenance and support work to examine, verify, maintain and reconcile financial claims amounts with official accounting system collections.
Utilizing CHCS/AHLTA, determine all applicable visits and ancillaries dealing with the liability.
Verifying eligibility utilizing the DEERS System. Posting payments to the individual accounts under the appropriate MAC Line of Business and balancing the posted amount in the billing system to the amount on the voucher.
