JOB SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the HR Manager, the Human Resource Assistant is responsible for assisting with processing new hires and terminations; maintaining HR database/records, assisting with employee benefit administration, recruitment, integrating company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines; providing HR support as needed and ensuring compliance with Federal and State employment guidelines.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists with the recruitment process by creating and updating job descriptions, drafting and posting jobs, screening candidates by phone and scheduling interviews for various managers2. Coordinating pre-employment requirements for potential hires: Schedules physical therapy assessments and drug tests, runs background checks and driver’s licenses for insurability and administers math test3. Prepares new hire offer letters and documentation, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains them, so they are current4. Works closely with Payroll to assure the processing of new hire documentation is complete and accurate5. Processes termination paperwork and updates systems as needed to reflect status6. Maintains the Paychex HR database and assures accuracy within the system, runs reports as needed7. Addresses HR-related questions from employees and reviews with HR Manager as necessary8. Assists Managers with Accident and Work Injury reports9. Maintains Safety training documents and tracking. Works with Managers on Safety issues, Monthly Safety meetings and inspections.10. Organizes company events throughout the year and monthly employee appreciation lunches11. Maintains personnel and confidential records according to Federal and State guideline12. Assists with the administration of company benefit programs including health benefits, FSA and 401K13. Monitors, updates and maintains company communication through Social Media, Company Website and other resources deemed appropriate14. Responds to EDD claims and Employment Verification inquiries15. Runs errands as needed for business including travel to various work sites to address HR related issues16. Maintains confidentiality and protects operations / company information17. Takes ownership of HR or clerical related projects and tasks as needed18. Supports CEO with scheduling, organizing meetings and special projects as necessaryREQUIREMENTS: Education College education or equivalent years in work experienceExperience 2+ years corporate HR experience requiredSkills Computer Skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; familiar working with Social Media programs.Able to work independently, able to be versatile, able to adapt to change.Individuals in this role must also have outstanding organizational skills, discretion, and excellent judgment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsTeamwork-orientedAbility to anticipate and problem solvePhysical Must be able to pass the pre-placement physical designed for this positionOther Successfully pass a pre-placement background check, drug test and business math testPossess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving recordBe a self-starter, able to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision, exercising confidentialityMaintain positive, professional relationships with employees, co-workers and customersBe able to work well under pressureAble to organize and prioritize the workload assignedJob Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)
