Overview La Crosse County Holmen and Onalaska libraries are seeking pages to perform shelving and new material preparation tasks, plus occasionally check-in materials, pull items to fill requests or other tasks as assigned.
There are 3 current openingsthe locations and schedules are as follows:
Holmen20 hrs in a 2-week pay period:
Tuesdays and Wednesdays 1:00-4:00pm
Fridays 1:30-4:00pm
Every other Saturday 9:00am-Noon
Onalaska22 hrs in a 2-week pay period:
Tuesdays 1:00-5:00pm
Fridays 12:30-5:00pm
Every other Saturday 9:00am-2:00pm
Onalaska25 hrs in a 2-week pay period:
Mondays and Thursdays 4:00-8:00pm
Wednesdays 9:00am-1:30pm

La Crosse County Respects Diversity Essential Job Functions Returns printed, audio visual and other library media to racks, shelves, etc. Place and maintain materials in neat order and proper sequence. Retrieves materials from book drops. Assists in maintaining materials, equipment, furnishings, etc. in a clean and orderly fashion. Assists other employees as directed or required. May perform tasks related to preparation of new books, videos, DVDs, CD software, and other types of media. Tasks might include attaching book jackets, labels, using property stamps, etc. May open boxes, prepare discards for book sales, and staple papers. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to move and stack boxes of moderately heavy items.
Ability to work with library staff members and the general public.
General knowledge of library operation and organization.
Ability to move about freely and bend and reach.
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently.
Ability to perform tasks quickly and in an accurate way on an on-going basis.
Ability to alphabetize and file.

Training, Experience and Other Requirements Adult or high school student (in good standing) with an interest in library work who can meet the knowledge, skills and abilities requirements listed above and specific schedule needs. May need to be available during certain hours in order to accommodate work flow and work space needs.
If under the age of 18:
Must be able to obtain a work permit if under the age of 18.
May work only the times permitted by federal law governing employment of minors.
For positions where the work schedules go to 9:00 PM, employee must be 16 years of age.
For positions where the work schedules go to 7:00 PM or earlier, employee must be 14 years of age.
