Detail of : EMPLOYEE HEALTH NURSE FT Days Job Opening in Palmdale
Reports to the Manager of Infection Prevention/Employee Health and is mainly responsible for assisting with analytical, fiscal, and managerial support for the Employee Health and Infection Prevention programs. Maintains employee health records and departmental databases. Reviews new on-hire screenings and annual employee health screenings to include health history, immunizations update, and brief physical assessment. Conducts surveillance and follow-up of employee exposures to communicable diseases. Collaborates with Infection Control to plan, implement and conduct annual Flu Vaccine Program. Conducts TB screening for all new employees, all other employees, and volunteers according to the Hospital TB control plan and/or at least annually. Conducts follow-up skin testing for all employee TB exposures. Conducts fit test for all new employees, and all other employees, according to the Hospital plan and/or at least annually. Trends employee illnesses/injuries to identify safety and health issues. Maintains summaries and written reports required for employee illness/exposure reporting. Provides concise data and tracking of all exposures. Conducts new employee orientation in Infection Control/Employee Health as needed. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

1. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, patients, and the general public.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical/clinical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
2. MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
One (1) year acute care experience. Minimum of one (1) year experience in employee health and/or infection control practice or education preferred.
3. MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
Vocational nursing degree (LVN). Education in employee health and/or infection control preferred, but not required.
4. REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
Current Vocational Nurse licensure (LVN) in the State of California. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) training.
CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
5. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must work in a clean, well-lighted, well-ventilated work environment. Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
Ability to function in a busy environment with shifting and evolving priorities. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
Stable emotional makeup required to work in fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Handles emergency and/or crisis situations.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital management and medical staff personnel. Ability to maintain positive relationships and courteous interactions with hospital staff and the public. Other duties as assigned.
