Description The Idaho Department of Lands has an opening for permanent .67 (average of 30 hours a week) Storekeeper positions in the Fire Cache.
This position is located in Coeur d'Alene.
Example of Duties This position is responsible for the accurate tracking, reporting, and management of inventory data associated with the day to day operations of supply management.
Responsibilities include supervising multiple casual employees during times of high fire activity where priorities are constantly changing.
This position is required to conduct inventories, ship, receive, return, and refurbish National Fire Equipment System (NFES) supplies. They also assist in the physical management of fire and all hazard supply movement and the tracking of state and federal surplus property.
Minimum Qualifications Experience: storing, issuing, shipping and receiving materials and supplies; applying purchasing procedures; applying inventory control methods; operating material handling equipment; entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.
Some knowledge of: safety procedures for handling hazardous materials. Supplemental Information Special Requirements: These positions require employee to accept rotational on-call assignments to serve as the CDA Cache duty officer for afterhours supply and equipment movements during fire season. This means overtime, weekend work, and travel during the summer months.
Storekeeper positions must maintain Hazmat Shipping, Forklift Operator and National Cache System Database certifications provided by the Fire Cache.

Additional Information:
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) code for this position is professional (C). Based on the FLSA code for this position compensatory time will accrue at a rate of 1:1.5. Vacation accrual is based on the FLSA code and accrual rates can be found at: (Download PDF reader) (Exception: Employees engaged in Fire Suppression activities for which overtime hours are earned will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the hourly rate for each one hour of overtime worked.
