Your Role HR Generalist’s provides support for a wide variety of activities of human resources including Employee Relations, Recruiting, Coaching, Organizational Change Management, EEO and Affirmative Action, Training, and Benefits administration. The HR generalist is to keep abreast of employment law and compliance in order to effectively advise managers and supervisors in all HR practices and to provide information to employees about regulations, policies, and to provide general support. The HR generalist performs a wide variety of both complex and routine employee relations and administrative services.
Key Responsibilities Post and advertise hourly open job positions and participates in recruitment process. Develop a process to review time to fill metrics to reduce cycle time to hire
Develop and maintain good relationships with universities, employment agencies and other recruitment resources.
Provide training and resources to ensure proper preparation for interviews and selection of candidates.
Screen, evaluate and recommend applicants for interviews.
Schedule panel interviews, write job offer letters.
Prepare and maintaining job postings and related documentation. Administration of the salary plan/structure.
Maintain and process all unemployment claims.
Analyze turnover data to identify trends and elevate information to stakeholders for recommendations.
Participate in development and execution of orientation programs and training procedures for new employees.
Administer leave of absence programs and providing guidance to employees and management for all federal and state leave requirements.
Manage HR compliance reporting.
Ensure compliance with salaried and hourly performance management systems.
Support positive employee relations climate by being accessible to all employees.
Proactively build relationships by meeting weekly with employees on the manufacturing floor.
Facilitate actions to resolve employee issues and escalate issues to appropriate management team.
Manage contract agency relationships.
File reports and manage workers compensation claims.
Assist in development and maintenance of employee recognition programs.


Skills & Specifications Current knowledge of Employment Law and its application to manufacturing sites
Recruiting experience on and off campus, familiarity with social recruiting platforms
Direct experience with change management practices in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Job Vite or other recruiting/applicant tracking software.
Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to ensure work is brought to closure and key stakeholders are kept in the loop.
Ability to evaluate current HR business processes and suggest improvement.
Strong level of influence and negotiation skills.
Able to work independently on a broad variety of projects.
Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations.
Build and maintain business relationships.
Ability to research, evaluate and analyze new recruitment techniques, methods, and procedures.
Experience delivering training and development programs


Position Requirements 5 to 7 year’s HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Human Resources, Industrial & Organizational Psychology or Business with an HR concentration, or similar required.
