The Health Center Screener will screen patients for COVID and related symptoms prior to entering Elica Health Center buildings and participates in front office patient centered duties. Your safety is our priority! Screeners will be provided with all personal protection equipment (PPE). This position is expected to last approximately 12 weeks.
Essential Job Functions
Greet patients and employees, provides temperature screening, and inquire about the presence of symptoms; maintain logs per protocol
Identify the purpose and destination of patients/visitors ensuring that current protocols regarding entrance restrictions to the building are followed
Provides education regarding proper mask and hand hygiene protocols, ensuring that everyone entering the facilities adheres to protocols.
Supply badges and PPE per protocol
Assist with directing, wayfinding and escorting patients to destination as necessary
Maintain cleanliness of patient waiting areas
Disinfect all frequently touched surfaces such as the reception counters, check in kiosks and iPad screens, waiting area chairs, elevator buttons, door handles, railings, etc.
Daily set up and break down of screening area including table set up and maintaining appropriate screening supplies (hand sanitizers, masks, disinfectant wipes, etc.)
Communicate and escalate patient/visitor issues to clinic staff per protocols
Other duties as assigned
High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Athena Practice Management/Electronic Medical Records experience a plus
Bilingual a plus
Experience in a healthcare setting preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms.
