The Volunteer Coordinator supports the volunteer programming of Catholic Charities. The primary responsibilities are to manage inquires, intake, placement, and scheduling of volunteers and community service workers for Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, and to facilitate agency-wide volunteer processes utilizing the volunteer management software tool Better Impact. The Volunteer Coordinator ensures that volunteers receive a welcoming and professional experience from initial contact through the completion of the intake, the scheduling process or referral to supervising programs, and any support needed after.
Manage inquires, intake, screening, placement, and scheduling of volunteers and community service workers.*
Supervise volunteer office volunteers.
Ensure requested volunteer staffing levels are met.
Ensure timely and effective communication with volunteers.
Maintain and operate Catholic Charities’ community service program.
Maintain accurate volunteer data and scheduling using primarily the volunteer management tool Better Impact.
Assist with volunteer recognition.
Assist in managing and updating of volunteer policies, procedures and standards of volunteer service.
Update volunteer office volunteers standard operating procedures when needed.
Participate with the director in the evaluation of all aspects of volunteer management to ensure effectiveness and retention, and recommend changes as appropriate.
Perform other duties as required.
Agency Community Service Workers – The title “community service workers” includes Front Range Community Service, TANF, Teen Court, Municipal Court, and Goodwill workers.

Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Detailed record keeping and file management
Knowledge of volunteer management principles
Experience managing diverse groups and individuals
A majority of the assigned duties are performed in an office environment.
The employee is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.

Classification Full Time (40 hrs/wk), Nonexempt
High School diploma required.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated self-starter and ability to work independently with little supervision.
Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and multitask in a high volume, time sensitive, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to apply culturally appropriate skills in interactions with clients, co-workers, volunteers, partner agencies, and other community members.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), problem solving, listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form and maintain positive work relationships.
Ability and willingness to work within the established structure of Catholic Charities.
