Overview: The Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch, New Jersey is the premier oceanfront hotel between New York and Atlantic City, which offers 255 spacious guest rooms, featuring comfortable bedding and views of the Atlantic Ocean; five luxury suites, offering large sitting areas and wide balconies; 40,000 square feet of meeting/event space with 38 function rooms; private beach; fine dining and casual restaurants; tennis court, two swimming pools, a heated whirlpool, fitness center, and a full-service spa.
The Security department is responsible for the safety and security of our Guests and Associates. This department is responsible for the safeguarding of hotel property, assets, guests, visitors, and employees. Security Officers act as a part of the “first response” team in the event of a fire, health, or safety concern.
The Security Officer monitors and patrols assigned areas to provide a safe environment for guests and employees. The Security Officer acts to prevents, deter, minimize, and de-escalate opportunities for loss or damage. Responsibilities: Maintains complete awareness of scheduled group activities, hotel facilities and services, hours of operation, facility layout, fire and emergency plans.
Patrols the interior and exterior of the hotel to identify potential security and safety risks.
Ensures access into secured hotel areas are properly authorized, monitored, and documented.
Writes incident and injury reports, assisting sick and injured employees and guests.
Performs protective and enforcement functions in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
Handles emergencies, disturbances, and threats to safety in an effective and tactful manner.
Immediately responds to emergency conditions such as fire, safety hazards, and threats in a calm, rational and professional manner.
Answers security telephone/radio calls and responds in a timely manner based on priority.
Maintains "Lost and Found" logs, inquiries, and daily administrative activities.
Maintains Daily Employee Temperature Logs.
Administers all package handling that enters and leaves the hotel.
Checks and reports any pertinent information from each shift.
Maintains a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and employees.
Monitors surveillance cameras as assigned.
Provides interdepartmental assistance upon request, including security for the Tiki bar as needed.
May work in conjunction with outside law enforcement agencies during emergency situations.
Follow and enforce all AFP Management’s hotel credit policy.
Attend meeting/training as required by management
Perform other duties as required from management

Qualifications: Education & Experience: A high school diploma or combination of experience and education required.
Previous security experience or similar position required.
Must have basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
Must have a valid driver's license from an applicable state.

Physical requirements: Long hours sometimes required.
Light work -Exerting up to 20 pounds afforce occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach above shoulders, kneel, twist, and grip items.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to respond to visual and auditory cues (telephone, radio).

Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Must routinely meet deadlines and multi task in a fast-paced environment.
Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

Must be able to maintain professional and pleasant demeanor with employees guests in all situations.
Must understand and effectively use hospitality terms.
