Maintenance Technician (Night Shift)
This is not a building maintenance position. This facility manufactures aggregate products. The position requires the maintenance of the plant facility including the maintenance and repair of production equipment and maintaining storeroom inventory. Primary duties are to support operations by maintaining the equipment and facility with an emphasis on safety at an optimal level with the help of your team. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge and experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical/mechanical systems. This position will require daily overtime as dictated by the production schedule with the flexibility to work a rotating weekend schedule and respond to call-ins during production hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications
Troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs using precision measuring and testing instruments
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges
Constructs fixtures as required
Repairs facility equipment, fixtures, building, and grounds
Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned
Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts and complete tasks as assigned
Install equipment and test to ensure proper functioning
Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation
Removes and/or installs fixtures and equipment for safe, efficient operation
Troubleshoots hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to determine causes of failures and recommends solutions for repair
Maintains cleanliness, functionality, and efficiency of maintenance equipment, tools, and fixtures
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job
Must be mechanically inclined and have at least 3 years experience in Maintenance in a quarry preferred
Ability to work with the production department to ensure timely repair of equipment is essential
Ability to work independently and proactively
Basic computer familiarity
Good organizational skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Ability to understand and work from mechanical drawings/prints
Welding and pipe fitting experience necessary
Proficient troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of maintenance programs is a plus
Universal maintenance experience (well rounded)
Strong on motor control and variable frequency drives (VFD's)
Knowledge of control circuit wiring 24VDC is a plus
