Chlor Alkali Products and Vinyls, a division of Corporation, is seeking an Entry Level Electrical Engineer for the McIntosh, Alabama (Mobile area) manufacturing site. This role provides technical guidance in power distribution engineering related functions such as maintenance support, capital projects, process improvements and design changes to meet production and customer requirements in a chemical process plant.

Provide technical support with regard to process transmitters, control valves and power distribution systems
Assist with equipment and process troubleshooting
Ability to learn and specify new control systems, schemes and solutions
Serve as engineering representative on small capital projects
Work with equipment suppliers, vendors and contractors to ensure maintenance and project group goals are met
Support project engineers in developing electrical and control systems
Analyze, develop and recommend design changes/upgrades to existing equipment to improve reliability and meet production requirements
Improve productivity by leading electrical distribution and controls related projects
Justify, specify, obtain approval, procure and install processes and equipment
Update P&IDs of plant processes when new equipment is installed
Work effectively with engineering, maintenance and production teams across all levels of the plant organization
Assist in developing policies, standards, preventive maintenance procedures and tasks and operating procedures
Participate in and/or lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs)
Participate in and help coordinate plant shutdowns/outages
Support plant and Operational and Maintenance Excellence goals, including continuous improvement / Lean manufacturing initiatives
Maintain effective communication and coordination with area supervisors, production operators and maintenance technicians
Participate in safety meetings, training activities and follow established safety procedures and practices
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from a College or University accredited by the US Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale (Documented proof required)
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skillsverbal and written.
The following characteristics are strongly preferred:
Co-op or internship experience in a manufacturing process environment, ideally a chemical manufacturer.
Familiarity with SAP and Visual Basic
Familiarity with Allen Bradley, PLCs, HMI and SQL Server data base
Knowledge of ISO9001/RC14001 standards and procedures
Prior co-op or internship experience
Other manufacturing locations around the US. may include Charleston, Tennessee; Freeport, Texas; Niagara Falls, New York; Plaquemine, Louisiana and the St. Gabriel, Louisiana manufacturing sites.
