The Weld County Department of Human Services Employment Services Division is searching for an Employment Registration Supervisor to be responsible for the supervision of the Wagner Peyser Career Resources Representatives of the Employment Registration Unit. Coordinate the Wagner Peyser program, Work Experience Participants, and oversee the Client Resource Room and Navigation. Directly supervise employees and provide functional leadership in accordance with Unit and County standards.

Employment Services – Offers employment opportunities, training, career planning, job skills development, workshops, job fairs, vocational skills assessments and child care related services.
Family Resource – Assists individuals and families with supportive services surrounding the areas of post adoption, promoting healthy and intact families, child abuse prevention, public assistance navigation and community outreach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Directly supervise daily activities of employees in the Resource Room and Navigation, providing leadership, guidance, and support. Carry out supervisory responsibilities by ensuring that staff is compliant with County, State and Federal policies and procedures and program rules and regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Review and approve leave requests depending on workload performance and coverage. Review and approve time sheets for assigned staff. Participate in the interview process for new staff and make recommendations for hiring.
Utilize tracking data to identify trends in customer volume and adjusts staff schedules according to customer flow and need. Use investigative and analytical abilities to identify problems and determine the appropriate corrective action(s) in order to maximize efficiency. Assist the Employment Registration Manager in creating and implementing policies and procedures that are consistent with the goals and objectives of Employment Services and which are consistent with federal performance standards for programs.
Assist with management information systems. Update Connecting Colorado and its user’s information, as needed. Prepare reports requested from all Employment Services Units to assist in the delivery of all Division programs.
Maintain and coordinate activities in the Client Resource Rooms. Develop and facilitate through staff, trainings and workshops that promote client employability. Collaborate with other units within Employment Services Division to ensure customer compliance to all program guidelines.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with Federal and State agencies to coordinate the various aspects of the Wagner Peyser program and other existing or new programs.
Education:High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Successful completion of bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and ability for the position may be considered in lieu of the degree.
Required Work Experience:Two years full time business or clerical experience in an office environment which includes a high level of customer service and working with the public. Experience working with information systems and managing data. One year full-time experience supervising and managing employees that include directing work activities and evaluating employee performance.
Preferred Work Experience:Experience managing and implementing employment related programs. Experience working in a Human Services setting.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Must possess ability to keyboard at 35 words per minute. Must have a valid Colorado Driver's License and Liability Insurance. Must provide own transportation and be willing to travel throughout Weld County. Must pass Human Services Background Checks.
Other Necessary Requirements
Ability to enter data into several different computer programs. Ability to learn and apply new computer skills regularly. Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and Outlook.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and department policies and procedures. Ability to write correspondence.
Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small, and large group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply math concepts and calculations in the work environment.
Ability to apply common sense to problem solve in a work environment.
Ability to work independently and handle high-stress situations, prioritizing competing tasks or responsibilities in a fast-paced, high volume, and ever-changing work environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee may sit for extended periods and is required to stand and walk. Occasionally the employee may be required to lift and/or move heavy files or objects up to 25 pounds. The employee frequently is required to use their hands and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus such as that used when using a computer or reading.
