Qualifications:· Must have lived experience as parent or primary caretaker of a child who has utilizedmental health, substance abuse, foster care, social services, and/or similar youth systems, and be willing to speak about this experience.· High School Diploma and 2-4 years of related experience in human services, education, mental health/addictions field. OMH Family Peer Credential preferred.· Demonstrated ability in public speaking and program delivery.· Current and valid NYS driver’s license.Job Duties Include:· Help families learn to navigate systems, while teaching self-advocacy.· Meet with families/caregivers on a weekly basis to provide support and advocacy.· Help families/caregivers to identify their own strengths and barriers to success.· Assist families/caregivers in identifying parenting skills that can be strengthened, and teach/model these skills.· Help families assess their own resources for services needed.· Advocate for identifying and accessing educational information, community services and resources for families.· Meet documentation requirements in a timely manner per program guidelines.· Prepares family for and attends CSE, treatment team, and meetings with other service providers.· Guides families in enhancing their natural support system and increasing connections within their community.· Work independently and as part of the treatment team.· Participates in and completes PEP training and any other necessary trainings to become credentialed.· Facilitates/co-facilitates groups for families and caregivers.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $25,500.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)
