THIS IS A NON-CIVIL SERVICE POSITION Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to both the Outreach and Shelter Services Divisions. The incumbent will work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in a standard office environment and requires minimal physical exertion. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate division; Tracking shelter and outreach data; organize and schedule appointments; coordinate meetings and take detailed minutes; compose correspondence such as emails, memos, letters, and forms; distribute information via fax and email; assist in the preparation of regularly schedule reports; develop and maintain a filing system; maintain contact lists; act as the point of contact for internal and external clients. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of administrative techniques;
Knowledge of office practices and procedures;
Knowledge of the basic uses and capabilities of computers and information technology;
Skilled in the use and application of Microsoft Office Suite;
Skilled in virtual meeting technology;
Ability to effectively communication orally and written;
Ability to perform a variety of office support tasks;
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients and staff.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma and 3 years of experience in office support and coordination.
