Position Summary: The Operations Assistant Manager serves as a back-up to the Operations Manager and is responsible for ensuring all daily operational tasks are completed through appropriate delegation and execution by departmental staff. The Operations Assistant-Manager will lead and evaluate processes for effectiveness and act to improve efficiencies and response times to the customer. The Operations Assistant-Manager will act as a driving force in providing a proactive safety culture, ensuring customer satisfaction and promoting strong performance through team development and training.Primary Responsibilities: Customer Satisfaction: · Allocate team resources to complete operational requirements daily.· Execute daily tasks efficiently and effectively while prioritizing urgent requests and delegating responsibilities for timely completion.· Collaborate with operations manager to ensure that customer expectations are met.· Drive operational activities including but not limited to: unloading, inspection, paperwork pulling material running, put-away, picking, packing, and loading of all types of orders as part of the established processes.· Respond to customer escalations and complaints within an hour to quickly resolve service issues.· Project a positive and professional attitude while meeting customer needs.Safety: · Recognize and abate hazards to drive the promotion of AW2’s safety program.· Report all near misses, safety incidents, accidents, and employee injuries per established procedures within 24 hours of first knowledge to control losses and return employees to work quickly.· Develop safety meetings to involve the team in creating ideas to ensure continuous improvement of the overall safety program.· Ensure safety manager and operation manager get involved when needed to address substantial safety hazards.· Monitor assigned areas of housekeeping program weekly for compliance.Employee Development: · Train and develop team by identifying and tailoring established training program to individuals.· Communicate errors to ensure corrective actions are identified and implemented.· Work with assistant manager to identify personnel issues manageable through developmental action affording team members improvement opportunities.· Escalate recurring issues to the management with recommended solutions.· Provide feedback to management on individual performance for annual evaluations.· Attend meetings as required and communicate relevant topics to the team.· Identify high potential employees and focus on development opportunities for them through the Employee Appraisal process.· Lead by example through maintaining a professional and positive attitude.Quality: · Partner with the quality team during audits to ensure the team is following all established quality procedures.· Maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring operational processes are followed for all activities.· Document required information and complete reports for management.· Report customer complaints following the established reporting criteria.· Provide input to Operations Manager towards draft of One-Year Strategic Plan annually to fit into the Managers Strategic Vision/Plan.Qualification Requirements: Education: · Two or four-year degree in Supply Chain Management (or similar) preferred, or 5+ years of leadership experience performing operations, customer service, and supervising people in a warehouse/distribution center.Experience: · Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience performing operations, customer service, and supervising people in a warehouse/distribution center.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Ability to proficiently operate material handling equipment including forklift, reach truck, order picker and pallet rider.· Commitment to safety as demonstrated through previous work.· Personal accountability with a customer-focused sense of urgency.· Establish an assertive presence to lead, delegate, direct and motivate others within a team environment to reach operational goals.· Integrity beyond reproach, positive can-do attitude and exceptional work ethic.· Ability to carry out team member development plans.· Able to make decisions, set priorities and solve problems with composure.· Good interpersonal and communication skills; possess good phone and email etiquette.· Ability to complete projects that may include evenings and weekends.· Attention to detail and accuracy.· Proficient in performance management; identifying and using key performance indicators.· Experienced in process and results-oriented change management.· Good organizational skills; ability to multitask; demonstrate flexibility.· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.· Oracle or equivalent business process systems experience preferred.· Ability to stand, sit, bend, pivot, and lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.· Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English proficiently.· Excellent attendance history.The above statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the principle functions of the occupation described and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the occupation.Job Type: Full-timePay: Up to $1.00
